Housing Committee Update
Today many members of the housing committee volunteered their time to help Ken, a local Vietnam Veteran, and Homeowner repaint his home. This three-month project ended today on a high note.
Mattoon in Motion in partnership with the United Way of Coles County, Coles County Habitat for Humanity, and the City of Mattoon participated in the very first housing project which initiated through Mattoon in Motion’s Housing Committee.
Volunteers assisted in the repainting of Ken’s home with resources provided by the members of Mattoon in Motion, Coles County Habitat for Humanity, the United Way of Coles County and The Home Depot. This project is just one example of multiple organizations working together to fill a need which could not be accomplished by any one organization alone.
As a committee, we are dedicated to the citizens of Mattoon in providing informational resources to homeowners. Such as different Housing resources in the area and coming together as a community to assist when we can.
We would like to thank all the volunteers who came out to support this project.
It’s never too late to start planning for tomorrow.
